The Bellingham Bells are a summer collegiate baseball team based in Bellingham, Washington, and are a member of the West Coast League (WCL). The team plays its home games at Joe Martin Field, where they utilize wooden bats, a standard for collegiate summer leagues. The Bells compete primarily during the summer months of June, July, and August.
During my time at the Bells, I worked closely with the organization's Marketing and Operations Coordinator and WWU Alumni, Hayley McGee, as well as the General Manager, Stephanie Morrell. They allowed me to continue to work on my passion for videography while also being mindful of the brand's image and how to improve our marketing strategies with video. During game days, I would work closely with the promotions team, greeting guests, helping with games on the field, and other tasks, while also capturing and covering the games with my camera.

- Manage team social media accounts and coordinate monthly post creation and scheduling

- You will report directly to the operations coordinator.

- Basic coursework in marketing, sports management, or public relations
- Experience with customer service and event management
- High interest in working in the sports industry.· Available for all Bellingham Bells home games during summer 2024 (full schedule available at www.bellinghambells.com)
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Working with the Bells this summer allowed me to improve my skills in video and still photography and tell a story that aligns with the Bell's vision and their community. I also expanded my skill set in the marketing world like graphic design, game day promotions, and event support!
Graphic design has never been a strong suit of mine, but with the Bells, they allowed me to improve through making player cards and game day posts
My time at the games was usually spent serving the promo team in any way they need help, wether that was gathering kids for games or running fan prizes down from the press box, I was there when they needed me.
With the days leading up to the season and the return of the WCL All-Star Game here in Bellingham, I spent many hours in the office designing graphics, counting merch inventory, and creating promo videos for Bells related events.

When I initially reached out to the Bells for work, I wasn't expecting it to go much further than that original email. But ever since, I am so glad I reached out. The Bells allowed me to focus on my passion while also gaining insightful information about Sports Marketing which I can use for my success within my major. Everyone within the organization cares about not just the team and the business behind the sport, but also those who come to enjoy the environment and community the Bells legacy has created over the years. I am honored I have gotten to cover and shed some much-needed light on this ever-changing team and organization, all through my love of film and photography.
